And the Liebster goes to...

Greetings to all of you!

For those who don't know I'm on holiday at the moment, brushing up on my fitness a bit, which has turned into 'gym 'n' swim' since I've been working in London, so this is to get me out and about in the hills/sea/beach a bit.  The downside is a total lack of modelling and internetting - I miserably failed my Robinson Crusoe test; I drove 20 mins up the A1 to get to a petrol station, where I now sit, typing out my blog post :(

Anyway, to cheer me up I found out that Chris at Sippin' On Paint Water has nominated me for a Liebster Award!  Huzzah!

I'll keep this nice little viral award going, but first the rules:

  • Copy and paste the award on your blog linking it to the blogger who has given it you.
  • Pass the award to your top 5 favorite blogs with less than 200 followers by leaving a comment on one of there posts to notify them that they have won the award and listing them on your own blog.
  • Sit back and bask in the warm fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing you have made someone's day!
  • There is no obligation to pass this onto someone else but its nice if you take the time to do so.
So now, for me to pass on the torch:

Vladdd's Too Much Free Time, who has very regular updates on all manner of stuff - at the moment some West Wind Romano-Brits, but this blog covers game reviews, WWII, general hobby ramblings.  A nice one-stop-shop.

Mad Padre's Wargames Page - another fantastic blog (and long-time follower), the Mad Padre lives up to his name with some truly amazing projects.  My favourite recent update is on Warlord Games' range of fantasy WWII stuff, so Vampires and commandos with crosses galore!  Well worth a look.

Lord Gordon and The Dragoon Guards.  Lord Gordon has some excellent 40K conversions on the go, just take a look through the history sidebar and you'll see emplacements, conversions, command squads, vehicles ... this guy's imagination is matched only by his bitz box!

Der Feldmarschall - a really impressive blog, again covering a wide range of topics but it has to be the Mordian conversions that do it for me.  Some excellent skill here, and a definite place to visit if you're a historical gamer!

Col Winterborne's 4th Praetorian Mechanised.  I won't say anything about this.  Just.  Look.  At the pictures.  Suffice it to say, there's always someone to inspire you on to greater things :)

Honourable mentions go of course to Chris (who nominated me in the first place), Col Ackland, Zzzzz, Buffer, Dai and Headologist, all of whom would be up there on the shortlist but have got one already.  Congratulations all round!

I'm back in civilisation on Saturday next, hopefully an update then!  Anyway, thanks as all for stopping by.

The Colonel

  1. Well deserved, you would have been on my list but that seems like cheating somehow :P Excellent and well earned choices there too, it was bloody difficult to just pick such a small number. I may start doing something like "blog of the week"

    1. Thanks to you all, and congratulations to everyone else as well. I know these awards are a bit silly and viral at times but it's nice to share the love, isn't it? Well, holiday over now and I promise to spend a good hour catching up on all the posts I missed!

  6. Congrats and thanks for the nomination! I certainly enjoy the enthusiasm and passion for your IG that you convey through your blog. Very inspirational. Hopefully I'll have more Mordians for you to enjoy sooner than later as long as life stops getting in the way. ;-)

    Cheers,
    Jason

  7. Thanks a lot for that Jason! If I inspire you half as much as those Mordians inspire me then we'll be okay. Looking forward to them!
