Having said that once all the stages are done sequentially it can be quite efficient - I try to limit myself to base-wash-highlight stages on every model I do, to keep it simple and consistent.

Well the highlighting especially is something I really admire on your Colonel Scipiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02632701529009379584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-65917438431505830272015-09-28T22:41:07.769+01:002015-09-28T22:41:07.769+01:00Sean, that's an interesting thought on the und...Sean, that's an interesting thought on the undercoats. I've only ever tried it once (on my WW1 Russians), but I seem to remember it worked quite well. I'll give it another try and report my results!Colonel Scipiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02632701529009379584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-12675166900120069672015-09-28T22:20:21.833+01:002015-09-28T22:20:21.833+01:00Thanks mate! Thanks mate!Colonel Scipiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02632701529009379584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-72309744729170535312015-09-28T22:20:03.878+01:002015-09-28T22:20:03.878+01:00I used to use dark and black washes, but I found i...I used to use dark and black washes, but I found it gave such a blotchy result that I often ended up re-highlighting and lost half the effect. I agree that GW inks are good, they used to be my staple but I think AP ones are smoother.

You're also dead right with batch painting and drybrushing - I just don't do very much batch painting any more...Colonel Scipiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02632701529009379584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-91129061828755135752015-09-28T18:25:40.304+01:002015-09-28T18:25:40.304+01:00Those Napoleonic Uniforms are time intensive for s...Those Napoleonic Uniforms are time intensive for sure. Merely one reason I haven't taken the plunge into Napoleonic gaming (again).

I like your method, very straight forward and quick. I must admit I get too stuck on washes and highlights and detail. What I paint takes far more time than it should.

Thanks for the props mate!Daihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04978439841611727387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-87997844277163670732015-09-28T18:23:11.769+01:002015-09-28T18:23:11.769+01:00He did, they are grey gloves is all. :)He did, they are grey gloves is all. :)Daihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04978439841611727387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-43950302507894478972015-09-28T02:34:06.497+01:002015-09-28T02:34:06.497+01:00You didn't paint his hands....You didn't paint his hands....Dave Gamerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10009751148304427066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2990982154267636114.post-28262758703692885692015-09-27T21:12:32.382+01:002015-09-27T21:12:32.382+01:00I like it
